CHICAGO COMEDY FILM FESTIVAL 2010-2020

In 2010 Jessica Hardy Kado was researching film festivals for her own film. At that time she discovered that a dedicated comedy film festival was rare. Most film festivals did not want or value comedy either. She had just finished her training at The Second City Conservatory in Chicago. With her network and drive she created The Chicago Comedy Film Festival. In those 10 years the fabulous and funny CCFF festival staff hosted thousands of filmmakers, celebrities, and film enthusiasts in the great city of Chicago. Movie Maker Magazine recognized the festival as one of the top 50 film festivals to check out. The Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, and Time Out Chicago also recognized the festival for its stellar lineups and good vibes. It was sad to come to an end during the 10th year, as their festival would have taken place in March 2020. It would have been the first year the festival would take place in the spring. Go figure. It was a good run Chicago! The Los Angeles Comedy Film Festival took its place in 2021 as a virtual fest and had its first in-person event in 2023. We hope to see you at our November 2025 festival! Let’s do this again!
